My background in construction began in 1997 when I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from Mississippi State University. Early on, I knew that I wanted to be a major contributor or owner of a construction firm. In May of 2002 I became a registered architect. It was during the proceeding years of my career that I began to develop my own ideas as to how companies and firms should be managed, along with a desire to experience the challenges that ownership would provide.

TAS Design was created on the idea that good design is founded in the respect for the environment, not just the natural environment, but for the built environment: the time and place in which the project is built. The design should feel as if it belongs and has always been a part of the community in which it’s placed. Good design is also achieved in the balance of three key characteristics that can be defined as:

- Aesthetics

- Functionality

- Economics.

The relationship of these characteristics and, most importantly, communication are what determine the overall outcome of the design project. This includes the communication of the design to the client, direct communication between the project team members, and communication with the community. The necessary relationship between the three key characteristics can only be properly built through such thorough communication.
